Where is Jesus?

I just had a brilliant idea! Being pregnant and sitting in many waiting rooms, I was reminiscing about the good old days of “Where’s Waldo” books. It seemed like they were everywhere, especially dr.’s offices or anywhere that kids might get very very bored.
As I often like to do, I started thinking about how this idea could penetrate into the Christian Market place. And then there it was. My very clever idea.
Where is Jesus? A search book of different scenarios and demographics with a random Jesus hiding somewhere. GENIUS!!!!
Oh, but the moral dilemma’s that would arise. Where would Jesus really be found? Would he always be in or around the church? Would he be feeding the hungry in Africa? Maybe he would only be found in Israel. Or the bible belt of the southern USA. Where would the Zionists want Jesus placed? What about the over-the-top southern baptist movement? Would Jesus be protesting outside of Heath Ledgers funeral? Or what about the adamant religious character who will not waiver from the idea that Jesus is everywhere?
Hmmmm, maybe this fun little idea is a bit to complicated.

God is better than Spiderman

At our church we have a moment before all the little kidlets leave for Jr.Church where they all come to the front and Pastor Larry has a brief moment to share something with them. Each week one little dude gets to take home a box and bring it back filled with some sort of object. On Sunday morning, Pastor Larry opens the box and does an impromptu devotion based on the object in the box.

A few Sundays ago one of the little critters brought a Spiderman doll in the box. Pastor began his silly sermon, and somewhere along the lines got to the point of telling the kids “…and thats why Jesus is better than Spiderman…” To which one of the kids responded “Ya, but spiderman can fly and Jesus cant”. Before anyone could even get out a laugh, the pastor snapped back with “Ya, well Jesus can turn water into wine, he can feed 5000 with one loaf of bread….”

No offense pastor, but flying does sound a bit cooler.
But it made me think of these 5 reasons God really is better than Spiderman

1) God created Spiderman…enough said.
2) Spiderman only has two identities (Spidey and Peter Parker) but God has three; Father, Son, & Holy Spirit.
3) God doesnt need to fly if he can be everywhere at once!
4) Spiderman is constantly trying to save innocent victims, and that is the reason for his existance. But God has already saved everyone.
5) Jesus had 12 side-kicks. Spiderman has none.
